Rock The Trail under the Twilight Stars as you tackle 7km worth of challenging trails & asphalt in the forest of Penang Hill. Immerse yourself into the tranquil night as you navigate through the trail and experience the beauty of the forest in the twilight.
Starting at 6.00pm, you will have up to 12 hours to complete as many laps of 7km as possible, finishing before the day breaks at 6.00am. Catering to different levels of abilities, the medal you earn will be based on your determination.

Participants will need to bring along the following documents for the collection of Race Entry Packs:

  • NRIC or Photo ID for verification purposes

Event Format

  • This is an individual and team of 2 category.
  • Flag off for both categories will be strictly at 6pm on 19th December 2015 and runners to complete the maximum number of loops within 12 hours.
  • Looping will be close wise basis.
  • Team of 2 category can be same gender of different gender and importantly both must be above 16 years old.
  • It will be up to the team to decide which runner going to run how many loops...one runner could run 2 loops,followed by the 2nd runners running in the next few loops.
  • In the end,the team who completed the most number of loops will be announced the Champion in team event.
  • You can register as a team with your friend or if you need our help,we could always help you to pair with another runner.
  • At the end of every loops,please remember to remember to the Team stationed at The Check-in station.Failure to report will lead to inaccurate recording and no appeal shall be allowed.

Schedule

19th December 2015:
  • 11am till 3 pm : Race pack collection at Mytriathlonshop
  • 4pm till 5.30pm : Race pack collection at Race site, BYOB counter,baggage deposit counter and special needs counter open
  • 6.00pm : Race starts
20th December 2015
  • 4.15am : Last runner leaving the Start line camp for the looping
    Note : Any runners who failed to register the Finish Line by 6.00am on 20th December 2015,his or her loop will not be counted.
  • 6.00am : Race ends
  • 6.10am : Medal / Finisher T to all runners
  • 6.30am : Prize presentation
  • 7.00am : All counters will be closed...BYOB counter, special needs counter and baggage deposit counter

Compulsory Items

  • Headlight/Torchlight with spare batteries
  • Mobile Phone (for emergency)
  • Red Blinker Light (placed at your back)
You must have these compulsory items with you before you start & throughout the duration you are still in the race. Failure to possess any of these items will lead to disqualification. Please understand this is for your own safety & to reduce danger to yourself & to fellow participants.

Recommended Items

  • Hydration Bag/Bladder/Bottle
  • Whistle (to alert others of danger/indicate your location)
  • Gel/Electrolytes/Food
  • Simple first aid
  • Light rain jacket (to keep warm/avoid getting wet)
  • Emergency blanket (to keep warm)
  • Hiking Pole
  • Extra shoes/socks

Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB)

To promote a 'green' environment, we will be adopting a 'Bring Your Own Bottle' practice, where participants are recommended to bring your own bottle/cup which can be re-used for drinks at the Main Support Station. This will reduce cup usage & reduce waste.
There will be space allocated for these BYOB bottles/cups where you may access it whenever you return to the Main Support Station. Your bottles/cups must be marked with your bib number.
Please collect your bottle/cup by 7.00am on Sunday 21 Dec 2014 or it'll be disposed.

Special Needs Bag Drop

You may prepare your own race-essential items in your own self-provided bag & deposit at the Special Needs Bag Drop area at the Main Support Station. These contain items which you think you'll need during the course of the race (this bag is different from your baggage deposit). You can access this whenever you return to the Main Support Station. Your bag (of reasonable size) must be marked with your bib number.
Some items you may wish to keep inside this Bag are:
  • Shoes
  • Socks
  • Anti-chafing lotion/cream
  • Race attire
  • Spare batteries
Please collect your Special Needs Bag by 7.00am on Sunday 20th Dec 2015 or it'™ll be disposed.

Safety

This event takes place throughout the night & half of the distance every lap is in the trail. Please be aware of the following risks of taking part in such an event:
  • Reduced visibility(Headlight/Torchlight is compulsory)
  • Uneven Terrain in the Trail (Be alert. Watch your steps. Go slow)
  • Reduced alertness/Sleepy (Take a rest. It'™s dangerous to proceed in a dazed/sleepy condition)
  • Dark Environment (wear bright clothes with reflective material, red blinker light at back)
  • Wet/Muddy/Slippery terrain (bring rain jacket/extra socks/shoes, shoes with good grip)
  • Delayed Medical Response Time for the trail segment due to difficult terrain. Evacuation of casualty will take longer time (be careful in the trail, listen to your body's signs, do not over-push, carry first aid/medical supplies)

Route Markings

  • The route will be marked with signages/reflective tape (as shown in picture, or similar).
  • Please do not divert from the marked route or you risk getting lost.

This is located at the Main Event Site (Car park at Jalan Kebun Bunga).

Finisher T-Shirt & Medal

  • You may collect these any time (up till 6.30am on 21 Dec 2014) after you have decided to stop.
  • Collection will be at the Finish Counter at the Main Event Site.
  • Please present your number tag for us to verify the number of laps you have completed before we issue the appropriate coloured medal (Gold, Silver or Bronze).
  • T-Shirt size is not exchangeable. Please ensure you order the correct size during registration.
